… to foster the education and well-being of school aged children (grade school to high school) in Telchac Puerto, Yucatán, Mexico.
Our Vision
… to lessen poverty through education.
We are focusing on three integrated areas of education: self esteem (social and emotional growth/nurturing,) academic proficiency and health through nutrition.

When you educate a girl/woman, you educate a family.

Our Wish List –
If you are driving to Yucatán and have some space in your car or flying and have space in your suitcase, and are wondering what to bring… may we suggest: dental floss, kids books in Spanish, crayons, coloring books, tooth brushes and paste, hotel-sized toiletries, $1 store games, hair things, etc.
To add nutrition to our program (hungry kids can’t concentrate to learn) we are looking for a house near the schools so that we can provide breakfasts for the kids and possibly dinner for poor, alone, senior citizens. We need donations to buy or rent. Think about this PLEASE. It will be our Community Center.
Each child that has a sponsor will receive:
1) A brand-new backpack
2) ALL their school supplies – notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, colored pencils, pencil box, scissors, 100 sheets of white bond paper, a calculator (scientific or basic), dictionary, geometry set, liquid paper, glue sticks, USB stick (secondary school), etc.
3) Three uniform blouses or shirts
4) Two pairs of uniform pants or two skirts
5) A pair of black uniform school shoes
6) Three pairs of socks
7) A hoodie
8) A gym/sports uniform -NEW this y ear
9) A Christmas present – a book, educational toy or art/craft kit plus their framed picture from “picture for the sponsors day.”
Grade school (grades 2 - 6) is $125 US a year,
Secondary school (grades 7 - 9) is $175 a year
Prep school (grades 10 -12) is $225 a year.
